FAQs
If it's been asked, we'll try and answer it...

How does it work?

Unlike traditional raffles where you buy a ticket with a number and then a single winning ticket is drawn at random, we enter each player's username (we call them 'gamertags') and eliminate a player one by one until only one player remains. 💀

🤩 This makes our competitions exciting to watch and also means every player knows the position they finished in. We like to award players for making it into the top ten or simply playing in our competitions often.

All of our competitions have fixed odds. This means a hard limit on the number of entries per competition allowed. For example, a raffle with a limit of 150 lives would give you a 1 in 150 chance of winning unless of course you buy extra lives. 💖

🎁 We also offer smaller prizes for players who finish in the top 10 which vary depending on the competition. So the chance of winning something is actually much higher than 1 in 150.

We offer both pay-to-play and free-to-play 🎉 competitions at all times. We make sure that all pay-to-play entry fees are realistic and as low as possible, relative to the cost of the prize we are offering.

So for example, a gaming keyboard that’s valued at around £200 would have a set maximum of 150 lives available to buy at around £1.99 each giving you a 1 in 150 chance of winning with a single life. We’ll also have smaller prizes for players who finish in the top 10. 🎁

To guarantee the results are authentically drawn at random we use a completely independent third party service to do it for us. 👮‍♂️

Before a battle, we submit all of our players to Random.org’s systems and they very cleverly use atmospheric noise from locations across the world to select winners at random. This process is much better than the pseudo-random number algorithms typically used in computer programs and on other raffle websites.

Once a battle has ended you can also see the results for yourself on Random.org’s website to prove that the winners we have declared really were the same players who won. Here’s an example of a battle result. ⚔️

Each competition will have a minimum and maximum amount of lives set. Once we reach the minimum amount of lives sold or given away, the live raffle will be set on the next available battle date. ❤️

Battle Royale start times are as follows:
- Sundays at 8:00 PM GMT
- Thursdays at 8:00 PM GMT

After being sick of seeing boring pay-to-play raffle websites littered around the internet 🥱, we wanted to create a completely unique experience that makes entering a raffle just as exciting as it is to win one (ok ok, not as exciting as winning but pretty damn close!).

To stay sane during the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown with no work to do, GamerVenue was rebuilt from the ground up. We're actually over a decade old and you can read all about our history on our about us page. 📜

We don't just stop there though, We feel extremely passionate about helping everyone enjoy video games as much as we do, no matter the disability they might happen to have. So, we donate 5% of all our profits to gaming related charities 🎉
